Before purchasing the sony I looked at the options of other players and noticed this one had a radio also. I've never seen a cd player with a radio so that was a big plus when the cd you have in gets old! I wanted to buy a portable cd player so when I am out on my bike I can listen to some tunes. I looked for a player with ESP or something equal to it. After purchasing the sony I put it to the test. Put a cd in and dropped it an my lap. No skip, gave it a little love tap, no SKIP. I really like being able to hit my cd player and no skipping. If you ask me I thought the quality of the player was excellent.
As for the quality of the headphones that come with the player I can't say so much. The player has a "Bass" and "Groove" option bass for more bass and grove for even more bass. The headphones that they gave you couldn't handle "Good" music if they tried. If you do buy the Sony get yourself a good pair of headphones.
On every occasion out with my bike the player has never skipped or had any problems. The top that closes over the cd is also not high quality. A little cheap and flimsy. A dinky little spring is the only thing that assures you it will open again. I think if Sony put a little technology in to the plastic and door it would be worth a lot more. Overall it is the best player I have purchased and the only one in at least 5 years.
