| mplamann's Full Review: Sony Ericsson CM M1300 Cell Phone |
I bought my Sony CM-M3300 phone because it was one of the specials PrimeCo was offering at the time I decided to buy a cellular phone. It is a dual-mode phone, meaning it will operate on both analog and digital cell networks.
The sound clarity is good when in the digital network, but if I am on the fringes of the digital area or in an analog area, reception can cut out at times. This problem, however, may be more a result of PrimeCo's cellular network, than the phone's own signal reception.
The controls are easy to use. The phone has a large 4 line, back-lit display. Using a side wheel button, you can scroll through the phone's menu of options.
The most handy features for me are the keylock option and the phone book. I can store up to 99 phone numbers. If an incoming phone number is entered in my phone book, it displays the name along with the number on the display. The keylock option is handy because it is easy to bump the buttons on the keypad, since they are raised. By locking the buttons, you have to press a code to use the phone, but can still accept incoming calls.
My only complaint about the phone is the fact that the side wheel button on my phone is wearing out. It sometimes does not register when I turn it. I do not know if this is a routine problem with this type of phone, but it is an minor annoyance to deal with.
Besides that problem, the phone is very durable and should last a long time. It's light enough to carry in a bag, purse, or shirt pocket. A good value for the price. I would recommend it to anyone interested in a fairly priced dual-mode cellular phone.
