| Axis7400's Full Review: Sony Ericsson KF-788 Cell Phone |
This is the first cell phone I've bought since the days of those old motorola flip-phone clunkers. Naturally, the KF 788 is better in just about every way I can think of.
I bought the phone originally because of its size. The Nokia phones were too big (and without a flip cover, all sorts of junk could clog up those keys), and the Motorola StarTACs were too small (and too expensive).
I have been nothing but satisfied with this phone. Every feature seems so well thought out. Calls can be picked up and ended with the open or close of the flip cover. The phone has completely customizeable rings (or songs, if you desire), with changeabe volume, timing, and tones. And Ericsson managed to fit a vibrating alert in the phone as standard, and not as some extra that they've fit in a special (more expensive and not included) battery.
There is also convenient one-touch dialing. Just hold down a button 1 through 9 and it will dial.
The phone isn't quite perfect, however. The vibrating alert sometimes isn't strong enough to get my attention. Also, the buttons are a bit tiny (but I suppose that all of them are nowadays).
Also, compared to Nokias, the display is only 3 lines, with a lower resolution in those lines. But hey, I'm not browsing the web on the go. I don't need instant stock quotes. I'm not that important.
Also, the antenna isn't extendable. And although these phones probably don't cause cancer or memory loss or anything like that, I'd rather be safe than sorry.
Overall, I highly recommend this phone.
