Before voice chat, online games were just, dare I say it, lame on the PS2. Without voice chat, there is no strategy, you just can't make a plan with your online pals during a game. It can be very frustrating playing a online game on PS2 and having no communication with other players. The Sony headset eliminates all frustration and allows you to chat with your buddies on PS2 online games that allow voice chat.
I originally bought this headset for SOCOM II, the game wasn't very fun at all when everyone else could communicate with each other and I was left out in the dust. I was even voted out of games for not being able to chat and be part of the team.
Description
This headset is form-fitting for comfort and gives you the ability to play for many hours. The microphone cancels background noise so the people on the other side only hear your voice, nothing else. Volume control to increase or decrease sound from headset. So you don't go deaf from people who project their voice. Mute button to cancel your online buddies from listening in on private conversations. Just hit the button and nobody (online) can hear you talking.
Anything else I can use this for?
This is mainly for PS2 online games that allow for voice chat. It can also be used on online computer games that also allow voice chat because of the USB hook-up.
Is this durable?
The head gear is not the strongest plastic made. If heard of many people leaving it on the ground and stepping on it which easily cracks it in half. Also the cover over the microphone can also tear off if you really pick at it. I believe, as long as you take care of the headset and keep it on a table or on a shelf, it should be very safe. Just watch wear you step.

This microphone sounds great, and your online buddies will hear you crystal clear. This is a must for any online gamer.
