| akshobhyavajra's Full Review: Specialized sport mountain |
This shoe was rated the top affordable performance mountain shoe by Bicycling Magazine and understandably so. The Specialized Sport Mountain has a dual-injection molded sole - a feature normally reserved for expensive shoes. This makes for better control when cranking the rig and is easy on the feet.
The shoe has a molded plastic toe bumper and is SPD / Time compatible. The clips are easy to install and the shoe feels very secure having molded straps and lacing option.
Even though the shoe is designed for off-road use it doesn't seem to mind being used on my road bikes as well. Granted, by wearing this type shoe on a road bike I could get a ticket by the high-browed roadie fashion police, but I really don't care - the Sport Mountain is a cost-effective quality shoe that works well. And I did not even have to spend $250 - $300 on a pair of Northwave Lion Limited or a pair of Carnac Quartz.
