Pros: Looks Terrific!
Cons: Misleading level of comfort and support.
The Bottom Line: Perhaps my model is a lemon, but considering how often the manufacturers change the names, how can you be sure you won't be purchasing the same one? Stay away!

| rowdyparts's Full Review: Spring Air Back Supporter Mattress |
Last month I purchased a Spring Air "Saffron" queen size set. One night on it and I knew I was in trouble. The first hour in this bed feels great, but then my hips begin to sink deeply into the mattress. Later on during the night, most of my body from the hips up were sinking through the three inch foam top layer to the actual mattress underneath. This makes the mattress get harder and more uncomfortable through the night. After nearly four weeks of use, this pattern of the bed feeling great at first only to rapidly deteriorate has remained about the same.
Another problem is Spring Air's practice of over quilting their more expensive models. This quilting looks really inviting, but in reality they can make the bed feel rather lumpy. I wake up with pain in my ribs if I sleep on my stomach and pain in my kidneys if I sleep on my back. I believe that this is due in part because the foam used to fill the quilting is a little too firm, and as I sink deeper into the actual mattress, it creates great pressure on your mid body in very localized areas. It is an absolutely miserable feeling that I have never before encountered in any mattress I have slept on.
I spent fifteen minutes on this bed in the showroom and it felt supportive, yet comfortably plush. I feel this line of mattress is deceptively comfortable for very short periods. The store has agreed (thank, God!) to take it back for full credit toward another mattress. I can not wait to see this one go! My previous mattress was nine years old and it didn't hurt me. In fact, the worst beds in some motels I have stayed in were more comfortable over a nights rest. How is the consumer to know what he is purchasing when a bed is constructed in a manner that offers a false sense of support and comfort that lasts only as long as it takes to sell the item? I spent 45 minutes laying on the mattress I chose to replace the torture chamber, and I still feel very unsure about my selection after the nightmare I have been through. Hope my new Sealy works out. I will never buy another Spring Air.
