I inherited a finicky office stapler. I love the stapler since it is lightweight and easy to use. However, staples have been jamming like crazy in it. Thank heavens for sales, which is how I stumbled upon these Bostitch Standard Staples.
Description
These staples come in a cardboard box that is butterscotch and black, with the Bostitch logo in white. There are 5,000 Chisel Point staples in a box (24 standard length strips). Bostitch says these staples will staple up to 20 sheets of 20-pound paper. In case you aren't familiar with paper weight, a 20-pound paper is the weight of a typical copy or printer paper.
My Experiences
I am so impressed with these Bostitch staples that I have reordered.
They are working like a charm in the finicky stapler. I have tried a variety of staples in this stapler (a Stanley Bostitch model). I used Swingline premium staples, the Staples brand and W.B. Mason brand staples, too. At first the staples would feed well, but it would not be long before they jammed. It was fast becoming an issue.
I have been using these Bostitch Standard Staples with the Chisel Point for awhile now. On average, maybe one staple out of three strips might not fully staple (but the staple does not jam in the stapler).
These staples are used a lot. A never-ending parade of paper dances across my desk. I typically staple anywhere from four to fifteen sheets (usually 20-pound paper). These staples glide right through the sheets. On occasion, I have stapled twenty or so pages, and the staples go right through the pages.
I also like it that these staples are in wider flat boxes (compared to narrow boxes some other brands of staples come packaged in). I can store several of these boxes in my desk without having them tip over or slide into other things. The boxes stack well.
Purchasing
I buy each box of these staples from W.B. Mason for 69-cents a box on sale. They normally sell for $1.45 a box.
Summary
These Bostitch Standard Staples are working great for me. I will definitely buy more when my supply runs low. My stapler is finally happy!
