| JENNI1396's Full Review: Suave Herbal Care Mousse |
After I got my hair permed back in November 2002, I needed to go out and buy a mousse that worked well with my hair type, make my hair sticky, smelled good and wouldn't weigh my hair down. I didn't have a lot of money on me at the time, so I choose to buy Suave Naturals Freesia Volume & Control Mousse in the Suave Herbals line of products. My local Meijer's was selling it for .99 on sale, regularly sold for $1.29. You can buy Suave Naturals in a 6 oz. can. The can sold in an attractive light green can with a picture of pretty purple flowers on the front.
Claims
To give hair body, volume and lift in all climates. Light Freesia scent invigorates the senses. Gives hair maximum control and hold without weighing your hair down. Never stiff or sticky. The unique formula contains natural ingredients and renews shine and radiance to your hair with every use.
Directions
Shake can well before using. Turn can upside down and dispense into hand. Work in to towel dried hair and style as desired. For best results, use with Suave Naturals Shampoo, Conditioner and other Styling products.
The good, the bad and the ugly
After showering the next morning, I finally got to try my new found treasure. After towel drying my gorgeous long blond newly permed curly hair, I put a quarter sized squirt of mousse in my palm and rubbed it through my hair, scalp to ends. I do like a mousse that foams when you place it in your hand, this one didn't, even though I did shake the can before using. Mine was kind of watery.
When the weather is cold, the mousse holds for a few hours, but not all day long like it should, leaving my hair unmanageable after awhile. Besides using mousse to keep my curls looking there best, I use it to keep flyaways to a minimum and since my hair tangles easily, it also helps me get a styling pick or comb through my hair.
On the other hand, when the weather is hot and humid, he mousse doesn't hold up once I walk out the door. When it rains, don't even bother using this mousse, unless you want your hair looking sticky and when it drys it looks even worse (stiff and you wanting to wash your hair again).
Instead of throwing a full can of mousse away, I used it on days I had to go to work, since I have to wear a hat, I don't care what my hair looks like. My boyfriend who has a short haircut also uses it to keep his hair under control.
Taken from the can
For fuller looking hair: Apply to roots and comb through to distribute evenly. Flip hair over and blow dry upside down until almost dry. Flip hair back over to complete drying by lifting at the roots with fingers.
For a smooth hair: Apply evenly from roots to ends. Using a flat or large round brush, blow dry smooth from roots to ends.
To keep your curls looking their best: Apply all over and comb through to distribute evenly. Blow dry with a diffuser or on a low setting using fingers to style. To separate curls, apply extra mousse from roots to ends to small sections throughout the hair and blow dry.
Warning, taken from can

Even though Suave Naturals Freesia Volume & Control Mousse doesn't meet all my hair care needs, I would recommend this mousse to anyone who doesn't want maximum control or for people who might have fine hair. Suave Herbal mousse is easy to find, inexpensive and does have a nice pleasant scent.
