Taylor Body Fat Scale, Stay Away!

Pros: Easy to read dial and read out, good intentions for the scale.
Cons: Took two models back for exchange and refund. Enough said.

The Reason For My "Not Helpful" Rating... (Reply to this comment)
by AinsleyJo
...is that I've decided that I'm allergic to scales and have sworn them off!

JK--about the rating, that is. You get your usual and well-deserved VH from me!

Actually, I HAVE sworn off scales for now and am going by how my clothes fit.

Will start using scales again when:

1. They're showing me something new that I haven't seen in 20 years--a weight that goes along with being able to zip up this one pair of jeans and have them baggy.

2. When I'm able to get on and off of scales without making my trick-knee feel unstable.

and

3. When I find a scale that is consistent and weighs me accurately no matter where I step on the scale as long as both feet are completely on it and flat.

Note: The more under 200 lbs. I weigh, the more likely I am for the scale to give me a consistent message.

Of course, I'm always hoping for messages of change--that is, those reflecting loss--but I'm smart enough to know that I don't lose between 5 & 15 lbs. in five minutes!

This set of scales sounds like a great idea--if they can only get it to work, as well as doing away with that water ritual.

What are they doing, anyway? Trying to install spyware in your body!?!

Happy Losing!

I have a Tanita body fat scale that I've used about 3 years, that is still working great me. I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for another model.

Hmmm, all I have to do is look in the mirror, Suz, and can tell the body fat is wayyyyy tooooo much! Does seem to be a lotta work for something I already know! Thanks, hope things are well. JBD

I've often thought it would be nice to have a body fat scale. But, gee, you're right. How necessary is that information anyway!

Also, I tend to agree with you that many product with lots of bells and whistles have more potential for problems. You certainly had more than your share with this scale, which obviously has some kind of inherent defect.

Thanks for the heads up on this model, which I will be sure to avoid.

Enjoyed the review :)

Damp feet to figure out your body fat. Well, tsk tsk, guess I'll have to go without that knowledge. Then what? Athlete's foot?

Nice job John, but I'll stay nice and ignorant abut my body fat.
