loving the tempur-pedic mattress!

After "trying out" the tempur-pedic mattresses in a local store for years, I finally bit the bullet and plunked down $2000+ for the king size. It was the best money I've ever spent! For years I've been tossing & turning all night trying to get comfortable. I used to feel the pressure from my hip on my previous (top of the line, pillow-top) mattress to the point where my whole hip would go numb and start tingling. I tried various mattress toppers - including a different brand of foam topping. They helped somewhat but I still couldn't get comfortable. This mattress has been perfectly comfortable since the first night. Truly, the only time I turn over now is when my ear gets sore from lying on it for 5 hours (or more) straight!
When you lie on it you gently sink in the slightest amount -- not like sinking into quicksand. I have no problem with turning over, which I've read in other people's reviews. That may have something to do with each sleeper's weight - I weigh 110 lbs. so maybe a heavier person sinks in to the the point that they have to pull themselves up out of their body's impression in the foam. Also, I've noticed when turning over, the impression left in the foam immediately rises back up and reforms around your new position. It doesn't leave any kind of hole or rut that you have to worry about "falling" into.
My one concern is that over time that won't be the case. It seems impossible that the foam won't lose elasticity over the years. I understand the warranty covers only permanent impressions of over a certain amount -- can't remember now if it's half an inch or more than that. Anyway, that will be interesting to see years down the road. However, if I can get even 8 years out of it, I'd consider it worth the cost.
I've also read about the mattress having a bad smell for a while -- I didn't have that experience. It did have a slight "plastic-y" smell but not enough to disturb my sleep and that only lasted a couple of days.
Haven't gone through summer with it yet so I can't say if it will sleep "hotter" than a conventional mattress. My experience with it in a 68 degree room has been that it's neither warmer nor colder than my old mattress.
The one downside is I used to be able to jiggle the old mattress enough to stop my husband from snoring. Now, if I try to move the mattress he can't feel a thing. And since it's king-size it's quite a reach across to shake him and get him to stop!
I'll write more down the road if the mattress starts to sag or form ruts or if there are any other problems that develop over time. After only a month, though, I think it's wonderful and can't imagine sleeping on anything else.
Update:
It's only been a year and a half but I wanted to update to say there has been no sagging or rut formed by sleeping in the same spot every night. The only downside has been that at room temperatures below 64 degrees it is SUPER cold and sucks the body heat out of you when you first get in -- it seems to take a good while (15 minutes?) to heat up enough to be comfortable. It's forced me to turn my heater on a little earlier in the fall than I would typically but that's a small price to pay for what is still the most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on.
Also, as far as summer goes, I noticed no difference between this mattress and a conventional one. Some people have written that it traps heat but I didn't find that at all.
