Thank you for writing such a great review of a cookbook! I just know that we'd be great friends if we could ONLY be neighbors!

I have loved cooking for years, and a couple of years ago I was lucky enough to attend a workshop/show that was hosted by some of King Aurther's crew. I received a sourdough starter from them that they claimed was over a hundred years old, and I made some great breads with it. (unfortunately I lost the starter in divorce, on cold, lonely nights I sure miss that starter...)
I have used their flour in bread making for years and always with good results. Somehow I missed that they had a cookbook out. Thanks to your review I will be looking to purchase a copy of my own soon. *smiles*

I've long enjoyed the Bakers' Catalogue and now am interested in this cookbook. You've given me enough helpful information, chapter headings, and details, that I believe I can make an informed decision.

As Howard mentioned, the little personal asides are always appreciated, as well, given a warm and first hand flavor to the review.

Thanks, and keep up the great writing!

I will prob stick with Bisquick. But this is a great review. If I get really creative, then this would be fun.

It sounds like a good book, too. It's great that they included recipes for things like papier mache. That's more my kind of baking.

review. I love to cook (although my baking abilities are not as good as I would like) this sounds like a must have cookbook. Thanks for the tip. BTW I loved the small personal stories spread through the review, especially the pineapple upside down cake incident. Howard
