merica's Full Review: Anita Shreve - The Pilot's Wife: A Novel Tag Autho...
This is one of the most enjoyable books that I have read in a long time. The characters really came to life for me. I never considered what it would be like to have a spouse who was a pilot involved in an accident. I think this message was especially driven home when the Egyptian airliner recently crashed and they are talking about it being caused by a pilot committing suicide. The book was written so that you didn't want to put it down, it was very intriguing, especially in the beginning. You could feel the wife's sense of betrayal that her life had been a lie. I didn't expect the plot twist at the end. Very well written, easy to read, and very believable. Anita Shreve has several other books available including The Weight of Water and Resistance.
