| orc_maiden's Full Review: Toshiba SD-1800 DVD Player |
It was November, 2002: Generous parents had sent us some Christmas money and we were envious of our friends' Lord of the Rings DVD box set. We did not have a DVD player yet. So off we went to Wal-Mart to find a cheap DVD player.
We chose Toshiba because of a good history with Toshiba products.
It's a great machine. Loads of good features. Has had no problems playing DVDs, video CDs and audio CDs, including some of the lower quality ones. I particularly like the zoom feature. I love costume and set detail in movies and this feature is perfect for getting a detailed look at such subjects. Another helpful feature: the machine remembers your place in a movie if you have to stop the movie and leave it for a while. The remote control is well styled, with good sized buttons. Connections were easy.
The styling is very simple and subtle. Fits in anywhere.
