Pros: they do tear through tough soil
Cons: cust service, warranty service, drive activation assembly, easily accessable emergency shut off ?
The Bottom Line: DO NOT EVER BUY A MTD PRODUCT...MURRAY BOUGHT THE TROYBILT NAME, NO QUALITY, NO SERVICE, YOU WILL JUST GET PASSED AROUND AND STALLED FOREVER.

| socomfused's Full Review: Troy-Bilt 6.5hp Super Bronco Tiller |
Troy bilt is under MTD, THIS TILLER WAS USED AT MY PERSONAL HOME, the
issue is that the tiller hit a tree root, and as specified in the manual, I
released the bail handle for the machine to stop...the unit never stopped,
infact it dug in more and more without the drive controls activated. the unit
slammed, flailed and smashed itself in more and more. finally the machine
stopped driving, but the engine kept running. there is no kill switch on the
operator end of the unit, you have to walk around to the front of the unit, bend
into it and move the throttle control over to the stop position. again, the
machine did NOT stop by releasing the propper drive/bail handle. This action
caused serious damage to the unit. it did not just roll out, it had to be
yanked, and dug out, therefore the handle was slightly bent from this action, I
took pictures, MTD/troy-bilt, said that it was customer abuse and not covering
the machine under any warranty. the damage sustaind from this single
action/incident caused $350.00 worth of damage...belt, drive, blades, housing
etc. They do not wish to admit that there is a drive error that could have
caused someone serious injury, or death.
They have accused me of forcing the unit down into the ground, NOT TRUE, they
have accused me of using the machine commercially, NOT TRUE, as specified by the
techs, and manual, if you hit something the tiller should push itself out and
away, or bounce over the object, DIDNT HAPPEN... also it says to release the
bail handle to shut down the drive immediately to prevent damage to the unit, I
DID THAT...IT KEPT DRIVING IN HARDER AND HARDER. i then was accused of \"tying
down the bail release handle\" AGAIN NOT TRUE\"
THERE IS A SERIOUS DESIGN ERROR that could have seriously injured me, MTD
refuses to aknowledge that. After the incident I contacted lowes,(POP)they had
me call MTD,I did,no help,just transferred all day,finally a call back, after a
few days.
the machine went to a service center, from the damage there were paint cracks
,which received minor rust, they said it was from repeated abuse...NOT TRUE,
they were rude arrogent, un cooperative, NEVER BUY A MTD PRODUCT, WORST SERVICE
EVER. They will call you a liar, I am a very honest person, and am sick and
tired of being pushed around by the big guy....and NO ONE does anything about
it. The machine was used in only the intended environment, they make it sound
like I was ripping out a concrete driveway with it....they are cheats that make
a poor quailty product, they need to get some integrity....seriously
