| kristinafh's Full Review: Victoria's Secret Angel Card |
Okay, at least for me :).
Who Is Victoria's Secret?
I'm sure there's at least one person in this world who isn't familiar with VS. For that one person I say - FOR SHAME!!! Victoria's Secret (or VS as I call them) is a well-known retail establishment which specializes in classy and practical lingerie (as opposed to Frederick's of Hollywood). Their brick and mortar stores don't carry as wide of range of sizes as their online store does. If you wear pretty mainstream sizes (i.e. 32-36A, 32-36B, 34-38C, 34-38D), you'll find a ton of cool stuff at the brick and mortar. The online store has sizes that go from teeny tiny to huge and massive :).
How Can I Get An Angel Card?
There are two ways. First, you can go to their website and apply online. You have to be eighteen and have a major credit card or another credit card through Limited, Inc. The actual application online is through the creditor, World Financial Network National Bank (WFNNB).
After you read through their Terms and Conditions, Customer Privacy, and Agrement, you proceed to the actual application. It asks you for Major Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover), Account Number, Name, SSN, Date of Birth, Address, Email Address, Phone Number, and if you want more than one card (for an additional authorized borrower on your account). Once you complete this information, it takes a few seconds for them to come back online and tell you if you've been approved and for how much. You're emailed a confirmation of this as well.
The second way you can apply is at their brick and mortar store. The process is similar with the sales chick calling up the creditor place to get the approval.
What Are The Terms & Fineprint?
* Annual Percentage Rate (APR) - 22.8%
* Grace Period - 25 days
* No Annual Fees
* Minimum Payment - $10 or 1/15 of your balance
* Minimum Finance Charge - $1.00 (assumes you carry a balance that would be charged finance rate)
* Late Payment Fee - $20
* Returned Check Fee - $25
* Over Credit Limit Fee - $20
What's In It For Me?
Many people have a bazillion credit cards. Adding another one to the pile isn't a good thing unless the particular credit card in question offers something unique. In the case of the Angel card its biggest advantage is that VS sends you WONDERFUL coupons and WONDERFUL promotional thingies. For instance, every month, you get a coupon for something like a free pair of panties, or a significant amount off of another product (like those pricey bras). If you're a frequent shopper, these coupons come in handy.
After a period of time, you can boost yourself up to a "preferred" member which involves more savings (and of course, more spending).
Other things they consider perks but which I take for granted include the ability to pay your bill online or through their brick and mortar store and the inclusion of complimentary mail catalogs which seem to grace my mailbox about every three weeks. The bill payment online is fast and painless. You can even set it up so that there is a reminder sent to you on when your bill is due.
From a pure credit card perspective, the creditor, WFNNB, runs promotional Skip A Payment's which you may or may not enjoy. I think it's a nice perk although I've never used it.
The End
If you're a VS addict like myself, this is a nice credit card to have. The perk of free products and promotional savings is the reason to reach out and get your Angel Card.
