About a year ago we decided to invest in cell phone service at work. We've been pleased with Virgin Mobile and with the service we got from the sales agent. When we needed to change plans and get a new phone for my daughter I headed back to Virgin Mobile.
Again, the sales agent was very helpful. I have the Kyocera Oystr and have been pleased. However, my daughter was not interested in having the same phone as her mom. She wanted something sleek and hip. For her, I chose the LG Aloha thinking it would be more to her liking.
Plus, the price was only $9.99. That seemed reasonable enough to get her started. I felt that she could always upgrade later if she chose.
The phone is a clamshell design. That helps. But it's not been as durable as we would like. The phone feels flimsier than my Oystr. When we are sitting together in a car or out someplace she often has less phone signal that I do. Overall, she's not been thrilled.
She likes the music ringtones. Only a limited selection comes with the phone. I think she was pretty quick to add another one.
I bought the phone for her in February. It's the end of July now. Already the speaker phone volume is messing up. It's also harder to hear for normal calls and the battery life hasn't made her happy.
Last week, she upgraded to a different phone. So far, she's been happier. Based on her experience I am not sure I'd recommend this phone.
