My Cichlids are always hungry. Wardley's new Advanced Nutrition Perfect Protein Cichlid Flakes are the newest fish food I have tried with my group of Lake Malawi Cichlids in my 55 gallon fresh water tank.

I purchased these at my local Petsmart for $8.00 for a large 3 ounce (85 grams) cannister. Three ounces may not seem like a lot, but since fish food flakes are very light, this is actually a good size cannister of fish food. The canister is about 8 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter, and it is chock full of great big fish food flakes. When I opened this I was surprised at how big the flakes were. (about half an inch across).
Cannister Design
The top of the Wardley Fish Food Canister has a seal that you take off. Then a purple lid has a rotatable top that allows you to open up an opening at the top large enough to shake out fish food. When you twist it shut it snaps into a shut position, much like a container of Grated Cheese. This allows you to get food in your tank and not all over the place.
Ingredients
I am not going to go through the whole list of stuff in here, just tell you the main ingredients and protien content. The main ingredient is fish meal. Fish are so healthy and thin because they eat fish. The food is guaranteed to be at least 40% protein, so these do live up to their name as protein flakes.
The food is designed (according to the claims on the label) to reduce fish waste by using more protein and less filler in the food. This results in cleaner water. There are no color enhancement claims in this product.
Testing - (Done by Fish, not by Me)
Although it is frowned upon by our community of users, I have never tried this fish food. I rely on outside sources to do the actual testing. Actually I rely upon inside sources, the community of African Lake Malawi Cichlids in my 55 gallon tank. I put a healthy bunch of these flakes at the top of the tank, and the six Cichlids I currently have quickly came up and ate them all! I mean they were completely consumed, nothing left. The fish loved them!
