| 42ENGLISH's Full Review: White Rain Extra Body Conditioner |
I know, how could I trust my hair to a product that costs less than a candy bar. Well, during my brain poot, I picked up White Rain Extra Body Conditioner and the shampoo too. At 67 cents each for a bonus 33 % extra, I could not resist. Even though I shoved them to the back of the bathroom closet refusing to use them.
Being a hair product addict and snob, I surprised myself by actually buying them but intended to only use them for the dog or in extreme emergencies. However, when I chaperoned my daughters kickball team on a week-end trip, I found that extreme emergency when I forgot to pack my toothpaste and hair products. My daughter had brought along the White Rain which she had been using and assured me my hair would not fall out. Really the question here for me is do the results outweigh the quality of the ingredients?
Ingredients:
Water, Cetyl Alcohol, Dicetyldimonium chloride, Phenoxyethanol, stearyl Alcohol, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Ceteareth-20, Behenyl Alcohol, Fragrance, Citric Acid.
Again, lots of alcohol which should dry the hair out, and other chemicals. No oils or extracts. The only natural ingredient is water. Lets look at what they do to this water.
White Rain uses only the finest quality water in its shampoo, conditioners and body wash. Our water goes through a 5-step purification process to ensure the quality of our products.
STEP 1: Water runs through multimedia filters to remove suspended particles.
STEP 2: Water is softened to remove additional impurities.
STEP 3: Reverse Osmosis Filtration is a process used where water is run through filters once again to remove all chemical impurities.
STEP 4: Continuous Dionization then occurs to remove salts and charged ions to further purify water.
STEP 5: Lastly, UV lights and antimicrobial filters eliminate any additional bacteria.
We take steps to offer you the best quality products for your hair and body and you will see this by the symbol that is displayed on all our shampoo, conditioners and body wash!
So, maybe this makes up for no extracts or oils?
This product came in a white, plastic, 19.95 fl oz bottle with a flip top cap. The conditioner is white and creamy but not as rich as most other conditioners. It also has a pleasing scent which is fruity but subtle.
White Rains Claim:
Add body and improve texture of flat, fine and thin hair. This rich, creamy formula adds fullness and shine and leaves hair manageable and healthy looking.
My Experience:
Like the shampoo, this bottle has an enormous flip-cap which makes it easy to use in the shower. Because this conditioner was not so thick I applied about a quarter size to my hair and massaged it in. It stuck to the hair pretty well but after a while, started to drip out. I could run my fingers through my hair freely. I left it in for about ten minutes and then rinsed out which was an easy task. After drying, my hair was full of the volume it promised and was very shiny. I liked that. I did feel slight build-up though which I can imagine would increase with more use.
In Conclusion:
This product fulfilled its claim as far as fullness and shine but is not what I need for my ultra straight do. I would buy this product again for back-up but based on its ingredients, I prefer more natural oils and extracts in what I use on my hair. But if you are looking for a cheapy that does what it claims to do, you cant beat this product for 67 cents. So because of this I give it four stars.
