gemini_666's Full Review: NHL Hitz 2002 for PlayStation 2
The infamous NFL Blitz has made its way to the ice in NHL Hitz 2002. This style of game is great and has appealed to many people.
For those who do not like the slower-pace NHL 2002 by EA Sports, the NHL Hitz will probably be what you want. It is fast, full of huge hits, and lots of cool features.
Create a player is a mode that nearly all games have nowadays, and Hitz has one of its one. There's lots to customize and you can even create your own team. You play exhibition games to save up "money" to spend in the store. At the store you can buy heads for your players, superb teams, hidden levels, and old jerseys for real times (like 84' Penguins jersey or something).
The graphics are really good and the players look like their human counterparts. Reflections on the ice and the stadiums are great. The animation is very fluid, which is necessary for a fast-paced game like Hitz.
The sound is good, but gets a bit repetitive after you hear the Limp Bizkit song a million times. And the announcer starts saying the same things over and over, after you've played a while.
The game has a lot of replay..you'll want to unlock all the hidden stuff and it's also a good party game. I usually just do little bets with my friend, and keep doing double or nothing until I've made so much that I don't want to risk it anymore. It is well worth the money.
