There is a very limited selection of science and math books under the science subheading of Books. You can try there and see if your books are in the database.

I've got a lot to be guilty about too. (Reply to this comment)

How did you get this book reviewed on Epinions?
I've got a lot of engineering texts that I've come across in my career that really deserve praise and others that colleagues need to know are a waste of $40, $60 and sometimes over 100 bucks.
Seems like you can't write reviews about just anything you want anymore.
Is there an area on Epinions for technical, academic or engineering publications and whatnot?
You know...the geek section.

*hanging my head in shame*
I know. How could I come out like that, with no warning or anything?
You may want to buy it now - math and science books go up in cost at an alarming rate
Thanks for reading!

You pervert!! I'm greatly dismayed by your shocking confession.
As disgusting as your guilty math pleasure is, I admit I have a little empathy. My father was a mathematician and nothing turned him on more than pouring over huge dusty math tomes. Now I'm afraid that my son, age 5, seems to have the same tendencies. I suppose I should just face reality and go buy him this book...

Hmm, I'm sure it's not a wholy unique idea although I haven't read a similar confession here or anywhere else recently, and I'm pretty sure I've never seen one tied to a book review. In any case, this one was all mine :-)
Glad you liked it.

Sure. I can send you a list of rates. Let me see, how desperate are you...
Just kidding. Try to play some fun math games when you travel or point out how he uses math in every day life. It might help.
Glad you liked the review.

But will I admit to it? ;-)
Unfortunately I don't think we'll ever find out.

I recall someone else confessing to love math like you did. Well, the rest was unique. Great job!

by ggrimes1221
would you like to tutor my son. :) He's a gifted child in art and music but math, uh well.... enough said he gets by keeping his gpa up with his love of science and spelling. Entering 4th grade this year we still have some time for hope. :)
Thanks for sharing,

Heh, yes. I sometimes did my homework outside on a park bench or on a patio table poolside, so I understand.
Glad you liked the review.

Friends be damned, I've taken Misner, Thorne, and Wheeler along to the beach to unwind. Nothing like some good tensors to relieve some bad tension.
Excellent review!

Malaria, huh? Considering how many mosquito bites I get each year, I may just have to call on that expertise.

Considering I barely passed Calculus in college, I don't think I'd make it past the first chapter of this book... If it makes you feel better, I read my old books from Medical Anthropology for fun. Who would have thought malaria could be so interesting? Great choice...

I know, I know. I tried to resist. Really I did. But we all know that resistance is futile. Eventually we all crumble.
At least I am no longer actively engaged in math pimpery - my days of training others in the joys of math and physics are but a distant memory. Now I am but a solo practitioner.

I was shocked and revolted by this dark and disturbing exercise in blatant math pornography!
Then I thought, "Who am I to judge. There, but for the grace of God, go I."
Please, get some help.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with Legos. Legos are great fun. Especially when you use them to build pyramids....*visions of lovely geometric shapes dancing in my head*

Sounds like I'd really get along with your partner. Well, except for the intelligence tests. My mom was a specialist in educational testing and by the time I was about 12 I swore that if I ever saw another intelligence test or standardized test someone would have to die. Luckily I had forgotten that vow by the time SATs rolled around, but I still hate formal tests of that nature.
Glad you liked the review.

Good God, I wish I had your mathmatical mind! I was never good in math and it always amazes me when people are so good with numbers and equations. Glad that you have a "guilty pleasure" that is worthwhile, mine is playing with LEGO's.
Good review, as always!!

I can't even begin to fathom what pleasure you derive from such reading but I know you aren't alone. My partner takes great pleasure in taking intelligence tests, deciphering math problems, and participating in group discussions on evolution or other such topics.
I always enjoyed Science and still do but never could dive into a math book without being forced.
Good review as always!
