DHL was used by my husband's company to overnight us a paycheck. I was home all day waiting on the envelope so that I could run right to the bank with it ! I tracked the package all day. It left the local DHL depot at 7:30 am and was in transit all day. At 3:52 PM the status of the package all of a sudden showed up as "premises closed, will attempt next business day". WHAT A LIE - not only was I here at the house at 3:52 PM - I was most likely standing in my driveway getting my son off of the school bus !
First call to DHL - I was promised a call back - 45 minutes later still no call.
2nd call to DHL - was first told that no one was home when the driver attempted delivery. I informed the lady that was UNTRUE - so then I was told that NO he did not attempt to deliver the package, because he had to leave the area on an emergency. I demanded the package be delivered !
The driver showed up at 6:15 PM that evening and he told me that he coded my delivery that way because he needed to be at a company for a scheduled pickup at a specific time so he did not have time to deliver my package. I shook my head took my envelope and walked away.
They should legally not be allowed to do this. I just wonder how many other people sit waiting for a package all day to be told they were not home when the driver showed up. Unprofessional !
