| maureen.barlow's Full Review: Fellowes P400C-2 Shredder |
I've had my P400C paper shredder for about four months now, and I am so glad I bought it. It shreds the paper very efficiently, and the 'confetti' shred cut was what sold me. This shredder cuts the paper both horizontally and vertically, to make any scraps completely indecipherable to prying eyes.
Granted, it isn't as nice or efficient as my office shredder, which costs almost ten times as much, but it's a great value for the money. It does take careful operation, though, but this is true of all shredders. I've outlined these below:
1) Make sure there are NO STAPLES before you shred. I luckily haven't overlooked this, but I'm sure all it would take is one staple to ruin the machine.
2) Do not attempt to shred more than three sheets at a time. If you try more, the machine simply will not work, so as far as I can tell there is no danger of damaging the machine. But it can jam if you're too zealous with the volume of paper.
3) Do not leave the shredder in the 'on' position when you're finished. Always return the switch to 'off'.
This is a high-quality personal paper shredder, and I highly recommend it. It retails for $59 where I live, although I managed to get it for $27 due to inaccurate price labeling at the office supply store!
