Introduction
After my old Palm V died, I went through the hassle of trying to find a new Palm type product. Unfortunately, they have made Palm products thicker and thicker since the Palm V / Palm 505 form factor and the most compact device I could find was the Palm Tungsten T. Upon purchasing my new Palm, I wanted a case that didn't add significant bulk to my Palm but offered very good protection. I settled on the Palm Tungsten T Slim Leather Case.
Initial Impressions
The case is made of a really nice leather. It closes with a leather strip attached to the back which is slid through a leather loop on the front of the case. Overall, the case looks quite nice.
On the inside of the case, there is a set of plastic clips on the right side which securely attach to the small dents on either side of the Tungsten T. On the left side of the case, there are two credit card / business card slots, a place to carry a little money or other necessary paper and behind all that a place to hold two memory cards. With the case full (including the Palm itself), I find that everything is held VERY securely.
My Experiences
Overall, I think this case is marketed improperly. It is not overly slim (measuring close to 1 inch thick when full). However, it is made very well and seems to hold up well (I've had mine for close to 6 months and it still looks as good as new).
The one major problem I have with the Palm Tungsten T Slim Leather Case is really the fact that if you put it in your pocket, it will press a button on the front of the Palm and turn the device on. I'm not sure whether or not to blame the case or the device, but your battery life goes way down when the Palm is constantly getting turned on in your pocket. Several people have reported that flipping the Palm so it is in the case upside down makes this problem disappear. I have not found that to be totally true, but it is better.
Overall, this case offers great protection, great looks but only a okay design.
