| mr_sallis's Full Review: 3Com U.S. Robotics Faxmodem 56K Analog Modem (81-0... |
I originaly got my 3com external modem when the WinModem that came with my computer began to be more effort than it's worth.
It installed easily and I didn't have any problems, which in and of itself is a big plus in my book.
And the PING (latency) was a lot FASTER than the 56K WinModem that I had before. Which was important since I like to play online games, and a slow PING makes them difficult to enjoy.
Overall it has been well worth it, in my opinion, and I haven't had any trouble since I installed. I have seen other reviews complaining of flimsiness of the case, but I don't find that to be true. There are children AND a dog on the loose around here, and even though it's been bumped around a bit, it hasn't had a stutter. And I like having the modem outside the case, because it makes it easier to tell
It is one of the best modems available, I think, and almost everyone should be happy with it, especially if they are upgrading from a WinModem, most of your modem problems should just disappear after installation.
