Pros: High quality monitor, good image quality, cheaper than genuine Sony
Cons: No real cons, some people may complain about the 2 horizontal wires integral to construction of the CRT, but you don't really notice them

Trinitron monitors have always been among my favorite. I have owned,
or purchased ( in a former job ) countless Sony, and other Trinitron
based monitors. The color saturation is excellent. The workmanship
and reliability is outstanding. The image quality is simply gorgeous.
If you are even considering a Sony Trinitron based monitor, you should
buy this monitor instead. You see, in addition to using their Trinitron CRT's
in their own monitor, they also sell them to other vendors. By carefully
researching your vendors, you can get the same quality monitor at a much lower cost.
(Note: Only deal with reputable vendors. It is possible to beat Sony's
price two different ways, by cutting corners, or by cutting profit margins.
You do not want to buy a monitor with a nice CRT Tube, but shoddy electronics
supplying the tube power. I have used the vendor (MAG) for this comparison
article several times, and have had very good success.

As you can see, the MAG monitor uses the same Trinitron monitor. The Screen Size,
Viewable Screen Size, Dot Pitch, and Maximum Resolution are identical. There is a
slight difference in favor of the Sony in terms of Vertical and Horizontal scan
rates, but in my opinion, that is probably less likely to differences in monitor
models, and more likely due to what the respective manufacturers are marketing.
The numbers across the board are simply to close to believe that different models
of Trinitron monitors are being used.
If you are in the market for a high quality, visually pleasing monitor, you will
not be disappointed with this monitor.
