What can I say but good things about the Compaq Presario 1200-X110 laptop computer. I looked carefully for a quality laptop computer before I made my purchase and I’m glad I did. Not only did I get a good deal on the computer but I learned some valuable lessons by not just jumping at what I thought was a good deal. I’ve read some of the other opinions posted about this same computer and I must say I agree that the Compaq Presario 1200-X110 is a top notch computing value.
I checked the Internet, Staples, Office Max, Gateway Store, Office Depot and Best Buy. I ended up purchasing the computer at Best Buy. They were very helpful in explaining the available options and allowed me to make the decision that suited my needs. I did not feel pressured or manipulated in any way. The total purchase price was just over $1,800.00. The complete deal consisted of the Compaq Presario 1200-X110, a deluxe Samsonite leather case, a $230.00 three year extended service contract (that includes replacement of the battery) and a portable APC surge protector. What really put the icing on the cake was the 12 months same as cash terms. I don’t mind using their money interest free for one year. Overall I feel I was treated more than fair.
I think it might help you to understand the product better if I explained some of the features I have used. First and foremost would be the 6 Gig hard drive. I’m attending college and working full time. I have found that with the combination of both fields I have loaded more than the usual amount of software packages. The moderate size hard drive allows me to maintain the programs on my computer without worry of space limitations. The next option is helpful in more ways than one. The 56K modem is fast and dependable. Connects are easy and consistent. I have found myself doing more of my research on line and using the modem to keep in touch with my fellow students. The 64 Meg of RAM is a gem as well. It’s plenty of RAM for gaming and working alike. I suppose anyone that has worked with computers always wants to know “What’s the display quality like?” I’m pleased to tell you that the visual quality is fine by any standard. My vision is limited in my left eye due to surgery so I’m very sensitive to display quality. Computer manufacturers sure have come a long way in improving the area.
In closing I have to say that my opinion is rather biased because I own a Compaq Presario 1200-X110 and I love it to death (Not more than my wife though…hehehe). Anyway if you do decide to purchase a laptop computer I would suggest you look at your needs and what you want to use the computer for before you purchase. This will allow you to apply the features of the specific product to your own needs and make a wise purchase.
