I picked the Presario 1200 as it was approx. $300 under the other laptops in the same price range. It had a slightly bigger screen (13.1") otherwise all laptops in that price range offered the same configurations.
The unit seems to fill the requirements for Office/Home use. The 2-3 hour battery life seems adequate--A battery charger comes with the unit, and will charge the battery to full in about 30 minutes...
I added a N.I.C (Network interface card) using the slot provided, also the laptop had a built in 56k modem card... Both items work very well.
A 6 foot telephone type interface cable was also included with the unit.
The unit does feel a little heavy but the weight contributes to a feel of sturdiness. The touch pad (Mouse) is very easy to use and has good sensitivity.
I have ordered an optional 32M memory chip to up the memory to 64Megs from the 32Meg standard.. I do not use the laptop for big time Graphic work but as 4megs of RAM is used for the on-board Video card, it in effect leaving only 28Megs available. I feel this does slow down the boot-up & some programs. I have not as yet received the extra memory, so cannot comment on any improvement in that area..
In summary, I am very happy with the Laptop and Recommend it..
