| PBrady's Full Review: Albertson College |
I've just finished the college application and descision process, and I've decided to go to Albertson College of Idaho. One of the key reasons is the staff. Brandie Allemand, the admissions person for Oregon, made a trip to my high school to give a short presentation about AC of I. She came to Portland, to do another presentation about AC of I for a large group several months later. She remembered my name, a little bit about me, and was very friendly. I had forgotten to send my RSVP, but that was alright, and I learned a lot that night. She also made a point of asking me if I had ever returned the form to participate for a $10,000 scholarship. I hadn't, and had lost it, so when she got back to Albertson, she registered me. I flew to Idaho, competed for the scholarship, and got it. I wouldn't have even participated with out her help. When I got to Idaho, my father and I didn't realize that Caldwell (where Albertson is) was about 35 miles from the Boise airport. There was a miscommunication with a policeman, who said it was only 3 or 4 miles away. We ended up with a $70.00 cab fare. The next day, after my father mentioned it to another parent at the competition, Brandie got our address, and mailed us a check.Several weeks later, she stopped by my house and talked with my parents about financial aid. Throughout the process she was friendly, informative, and helpful. I understand it is her job, but she went above and beyond what was required. Next year, I will be attending Albertson, because the admissions staff was extremely helpful.
