Pros: Don't have to adjust rabbit ears
Better reception than rabbit ears
Cons: Cannot adjust it
Cost
The Bottom Line: Don't have high expectations for it. It will improve reception but not a whole lot. If you want crystal clear reception, you will have to install the "traditional" antenna.

| chefjohnny5's Full Review: Terk (TV-42) (TV42) |
I purchased this antenna with the hopes it would greatly improve my tv reception. And it does if you use normal indoor antennas. But I was greatly disappointed in it and its mostly my fault. You can go to Terk's website and plug in your zip code and it tells you what stations will come in with what antenna. Well I ignored it and thought that since it would be outside (free of interference) and high on my roof that I would receive good reception. Well it was marginal at best. Do not buy if you think it will be WAY better than rabbit ears. I did pick up more stations and the stations that came in, came in fairly clear. The installation could be simple or difficult. Depending on where your satelite is located. If its on the roof and the roof has a steep pitch, the installation will not be very easy. If your satelite is located in an ideal place for you to work at, the installation should be fairly straightforward. The box says it installs in 5 minutes or less. I don't think so. I work with wiring on a daily basis and know Audio-video setups. It is easy to hook up but it takes about 15-20 minutes to install. 5 minutes if the sat. is located on solid ground. Want to hear a funny story?
About a year after installing this antenna, I was installing more insulation in my attic. Guess what was inside my attic? A big, brand new metal "traditional" attenna. Every station comes in perfect now. As you can tell, I bought the house right before I installed the sat. antenna.
