| rejeme's Full Review: Whistler DE-1765 Radar Detector |
I've only owned this detector a few weeks but am fairly impressed with it. I've used a Uniden LRD 2000 for 7 years and thought it was time for an update. My old Uniden saved me many times although it would false a lot. My new 1765 falses a fraction of the time in comparison. The tones the 1765 makes are also much less annoying. So far, along my usual daily commute, the 1765 has detected radar at its usual positions fairly well. Sensitivity seems to be only slightly better than my old Uniden, but my old Uniden was pretty good at what it did. I really enjoy the text display compared to just LED's as well. So far, I'm happy with my purchase. I've never owned a really expensive radar detector so I don't know if they are a lot better than the two I've owned. However, this one seems to outperform my older one.
