| realisticman's Full Review: Sony MDS-JB940 Mini Disc Player |
The Sony minidisk deck MDS-JB940 combines good sound quality, with a wealth of features. The sound quality is very good, and the deck features a 24 bit pulse A/D converter. There are 2 (yes two) optical inputs and one output, as well as a coaxial in and out in addition to a set analog inputs and outputs.
The deck has lots of recording features: erase, move, combine, divide, the ability to edit sound levels after recording, digital filtering, and pitch controls. This deck has a solid completely metal build and is indestructable. However, the remote is big and very clumsy, and the cables supplied are very cheap. One very bad optical cable is also included. Other than those very minor flaws the Sony MDS-JB940 is a great deck i would recommend for anybody, but don't pay the retail price of 400, if you shop around you can find it in the $200 to $300 range.
