| Matty_Roze's Full Review: Denon AVR-2801 5.1 Channels Receiver |
Do you think you'll still be using that Watchman at the next decade turn? What about the XBox game unit, bet that will be out of date in 10 years. Not so with this Denon AVR-2801 Dolby Digital/DTS Receiver. It is powerful, simple to set up, ready for all the latest sound-creating gadgets, and no frills.
If you are looking for the review with each feature listed, specs rattled off and explained, then read the next guy's. If you, like me, just want to read a quick blurb about why the lay-person will like to buy this receiver, read on.
Do you insist on bells and whistles with your receiver? "Make it sound like I'm at a rock concert!" Then this receiver works for you. If you are the kind of person who doesn't want a lot of lights and moving parts, just a piece of equipment that can blast your music and work with the smorgasbord of electronic pieces you have gathered over the years, this is still the machine to get. It's remote control will learn your other remotes, it'll use s-video outs and optic cables, but it also simply will use your red/white/yellow RCA jacks and sound as good.
One little feature that is especially nice is that on the front of the unit you can connect a separate RCA jack for anything you need to hook up temporarily. Wonderful if you have an old Nintendo that your wife doesn't want taking up space. Just hook it up when you're ready for a little Mario Golf.
Connect your VCR, DVD, satellite, regular ol' TV, Stereo, CD-R (CD-RW for that matter), your mini disc... Connect it all and make it sound great.
Not much more to say. This Denon receiver has the name behind it, it'll last forever if you don't abuse it, it's more audio power than any "normal joe" will ever need, and it's easy to set up. What more you want?
