| rssiegel's Full Review: Sherwood RVD-8090R Receiver |
I purchased this receiver about six months ago to replace a much lower end Sony Pro Logic receiver (which I now use in my bedroom). For under $200, this receiver has turned out to be an excellent bargain for the money. With 100 watts per channel, this receiver was a big jump in power for me (my Sony has 60 watts front; 20 watts center and rear).
Although I still use the same speaker system I've used for almost seven years, the Sherwood 8090R maintains excellent sound quality, even with its impressive power rating. Moreover, the jump from 2-channel Pro Logic to 5.1 Dolby/DTS digital made my speakers sound as if they were a new addition to my system.
This receiver is perfect for those looking for the digital sound experience, but don't have the big bucks upper level receivers demand.
