Pros: Punchy, loud bass
Cons: Narrow range, muddy sound, finicky auto on/off sensor, shoddy quality
The Bottom Line: Spend your money elsewhere, and invest in a quality sub from Yamaha, JBL, Polk, or Infinity.

| jaball77's Full Review: KLH ASW10-100 Subwoofer Speaker |
I got this sub as part of a $300 package of KLH speakers, and it's getting so bad that I'm shopping for a replacement as we speak. The range doesn't seem to go low enough for it to be considered a true "sub"woofer, and the bass almost always seems muddled - not defined at all.
It seems to have developed a rattle somewhere inside (after only 2 years of service). The design of the heat sink, is flawed as well. The heat from the sink is too close to the plastic spring clips for the speaker level input, and eventually cooks them, making them brittle, and causing them to break off.
For almost $300 you could find a great sub online (Yamaha, Polk, or JBL) and be much happier. Don't waste your money on anything from KLH. In my experience, it's better spent somewhere else. In this price range ($280), for instance, you can find the Yamaha YST-SW160, and the JBL PB10 online. Much better sound, and much better quality.
