These headphones have great sound when listening to any kind of music. they have a frequency response from 5Hz to 25kHz so the soundstage is excellent. The high frequencies are crisp and clear. The power handling is quite good, I can turn the volume up until my ears hurt and the sound is not distorted. There is a mute button on the left side which comes in handy, but you have to hold it down to keep the sound muted (i was hoping you could just push it to mute and push again to un-mute). In addition, there is only a single wire into one side instead of both sides which makes them easier to wear. They are very light too, so you can wear them comfortably for a while, and the ear cups are soft. However, with 38mm Neodymium magnets I expected a little more bass. I have the bass on my receiver turned up all the way but it is still not quite enough for my taste. when i listen to rap music I switch over to my koss headphones. But for every other type of music these are excellent.
