jhcdesigns's Full Review: Bang & Olufsen A8 Consumer Headphones
These headphones are for people with money to burn, people who love to have the latest and the best, or for people who are freaks about audio.
Personally, I am not one of those audio-fanatics who can notice the difference between a 128-Kbit and a 128.001-Kbit MP3. "Oh! Did you hear that tiny distortion in the sound in the 56.7 Mhz range?!! This is the 128!"
However, I do notice the lack of quality MP3's may have compared with CD's or MD's. Also, I love to have the latest gizmos and gadgets. When ordering my Sony MZ-N1, the new NetMD player (not yet available in the US), I also decided get these B & O A8's to further enhance my listening pleasures. These headphones did not let me down. With wonderful audio quality and superb designing, I was immediately satisfied.
However, if you wear glasses, the A8's loops may get in the way. It would almost be like having two glasses on at the same time. I do not wear glasses (contacts) so it wasn't any trouble, and my Oakley X-Metal Romeo's only wrap around my head, so these were perfect.
I highly recommend these to anyone who loves audio or just loves new, shiny, and expensive toys.
My only dislike for these headphones are that since they have these ear loops, they cannot be just shoved into your pocket. If you do, it's a pain to untangle them since they have these loops; and hey, they cost $160! They do come with a really nice leather carrying case, but having to put them in or take them out from them is a pain the butt. Unlike my previous regular earbud headphones, I couldn't just wrap them around my CD or my MD player.
