| JoeCool449's Full Review: Aiwa AM-C80 Personal MiniDisc Player |
The Aiwa AM-C80 is the first minidisc player I have ever owned. However, before I had the C80 I had an MP3 player. I can tell you now that the Rio PMP 300 I had before the AM-C80 is nowhere as good. The AM-C80 allows you to record music from anywhere you want. Each minidisc holds 74 minutes of music, which is plenty. Add the fact that each disc is about half the size of a floppy disc, and you have the perfect solution for music on the go. You can record from the radio, CD player, your computer (to add MP3s) or even another minidisc. I even recorded from my TV! It is extremely portable. The AM-C80 slips right into my pocket. The AM-C80 allows you to record, combibe, divide and erase tracks on the go. The unit itself comes with a great car adapter, an AC adapter, a tape adapter for playing the C80 while you're driving, and a digital link cable. However, I have found that the link cable doesn't work with most of the audio devices I use. I would reccomend going out to Radio Shack or any other electronics store and buying a cable with a mini-plug (the plug on the end of a set of headphones) on each side. This allows you to record from any device with a headphone jack. It also comes with a really nice little remote control. This lets you use the device even when it's tucked away in your bag or in your pocket. Both the player and the remote have a back-lit LCD screen which displays things like the name of the song (which you can program yourself) time remaining etc.
All in all, this is a great minidisc player. It is extrememly cheap too. Most players of this quality are at least a hundred dollars more. I would definately reccomend this to anyone who loves music.
