A moderate sized unit for a non-Sports non-Shockwave style unit. It is a little larger than the Panasonic and Sony in the same price range. The controls are decently visible on the lid of the unit. The full sound is quite adequate but the main attraction to the unit is price.
The headphones that come with the unit are 'cheap' and fragile. The unit opens awkwardly and only to an angle of about 70 degrees. Anti-shock is a little skittish at times. I wish they would have made the unit a little bit smaller with a better outside finish. It looks exactly like the prior years model. Same color and same features.
For about another $10, you can get the JVC unit with the rechargeable batteries and the folding headphones which is probably the better deal.
Recommended for those looking for a low cost unit.
