scarphace's Full Review: Sony Walkman MZ-E60 Personal MiniDisc Player
Although the MZ-E60 isn't loaded with features it is one of the better players out on the market for the features that it has. It also looks reall cool.
The Player
The MZ-E60 is about 3" x 3" x .5" and weighs less than a quarter pound with battery and MiniDisk. It's the most basic MiniDisk player that one should consider. It has only basic features, but it's equipped with 40 seconds of shock protection. This prevents your MiniDisks from skipping even when jogging. Other basic players come with less memory leading to skipping of your music. Unlike some other MiniDisk player the MZ-E60 runs on a single AA battery. Sony claims that you can run it for 12 hours before needing a new battery, but Mine only lasted or about 5 or 6 at tops. Another thing to note about the MZ-E60 is that this unit only plays MiniDisks so you'll need another device to record and edit your MiniDisks.
Features
Sock Protection - The MZ-E60 offers 40 seconds of protection against bumps and jolts. The 40 seconds provided s even enough to keep you music skip free while jogging.
Digital Mega Base - The Mz-E60 offers three settings for base amplification. When on the highest level the bass produced is rich, deep, and resonating.
AVLS - The Automatic Volume Limiter System (AVLS) is another feature that is quite common on most portable audio devices. I fond that it is not really necessary because I love to blast my music, but for this feature may help those of use who are a little more sensitive.
LCD Remote - This player comes with a blue LCD remote. The remote is quite handy way so that all of the buttons are easy to access.
Whatever your reason for buying this MiniDisk player, undoubtedly you'll become the envy of all your friends. Already two of my friends have bought MiniDisk players of their own. Now the technology is still new, not that many people have one, and the prices are dropping. This is an opportune time to get in on this new wave.
