Pros: This phone offers a lot of nice features, as most cordless phones now do.
Cons: A cordless phone is, in it's most basic form, a two way radio
The Bottom Line: Again, my recommendation is a phone from the Panasonic line but not necessarily this model. Upgrade to a true 2.4 GHz for premium range, clarity and security.

| ihavespoken's Full Review: Panasonic KX TC1866 900 MHz 1-Line Cordless Phone |
Panasonic definitely has it's finger on the pulse of what's popular with styling when it comes to cordless phones although the KX-TC1866B seems a bit dated in appearance. It's lay-out looks redundant, like most other cordless phones on the market. Perhaps some of this can be attributed to the mindset that too much change may confuse the consumer. I'm one of those people that like to see something a little newer, cleaner and higher profile. Panasonic is capable of upgrading the looks of their phones and in my opinion it would be welcome. The product name certainly has built a reputation for quality. Personally, I wouldn't buy a cordless phone unless it was true 2-way (handset to base and vise versa) 2.4 GHz. Anyone with a scanner and some time can easily pick up those conversations made on an analog or digital 900 MHz phone. The chances of that happening are less likely on a 2.4 GHz due to the scrambling technology used, much like a trunking system of commercial license radios. The range and clarity of 2.4 GHz beats is superior, also. I've owned and reviewed over 18 cordless phones as an interest that proved valuable to friends and family and I can recommend Panasonic, but not unless it's 2.4 GHZ.
