Pros: Feels solid, good looks, decent sound.
Cons: Features difficult to access. The other party says I sound distant.
The Bottom Line: If you are technically oriented and you can find it for under $100 then it's a deal, otherwise look elsewhere.

| del-1's Full Review: Panasonic KX TG2560 2.4 GHz / 900 MHz 1-Line Cordl... |
Quality:
The positives:
* This phone has a truly solid feel to it. It is water resistant, shock resistant. It's a good weight and balances well between your ear and shoulder.
* Reception: I felt that people's voices sounded a little quiet despite having it at maximum volume. The phone is very clear though.
* 2.4 GHz/900 MHz Technology
* Keypads on handset and base.
* Call-waiting Caller ID
* Voice mail indicator
* Good LCD display
* 30 number directory
The negatives:
* Sending: People say I sound like myself while on this phone BUT they said I sounded FAR AWAY.
* Battery life was not the 8 hours it claims... Although they tell you it depends on distance from the base.
* Functions are difficult to use. Accessing the directory takes several pushes.
* Everything is menu driven. No buttons for direct function (like delete) so you always need to press the main button more than 2 times to get it to do something.
* A weird clicking noise would occur occasionally which I assume is the phone changing channels.
Ease of use
2.5 out of 5
Talk time
Claims 8 hours. I've gotten less.
Distance
I've walked out to my mailbox about 50-60 yards without a problem.
Things to Note:
I haven't had any problems that other people have mentioned.What I have noted though is that I bought the 2560B from Best Buy for $179 (and there is currently a $40 rebate in effect so it'll be $139 BUT I'm returning this unit) AND
the 2560S from Costco for $139 (plus the $40 rebate so it'll be $99). There is a DIFFERENCE between the two. The silver one I got from Costco seems to work better and friends say that there is definitely a sound quality difference between the two units! Weird but true. So maybe Bcappel just had a bad unit since I'm finding differences between two units that I have bought.
Synopsis
Overall I think that this is an ok cordless phone for those technically inclined and if you can get it for a
good price ($99.00 in my case). I think Panasonic has come out with a new model 2563?? that's why they are
currently offering the rebate. If you want a good looking well weighted phone, with decent sound quality (although distant sounding), and can find it for less than $100 then this would be it! If you need to spend more than $125, don't buy it.
