| roosthui's Full Review: Sony DVP-S9000 ES DVD Player |
Welcome to the future of movie watching. Now there are two problems with that statement: 1. This machine is simply beyond its time, and 2. the future is big! Altough this DVD player will impress anyone it comes in contact with, I wouldn't recommend buying it.
1) The Price
The price of the Sony DVP-S9000ES would bring even Mr.Gates to tears. How can anyone in their right minds expect to pay $1500 for a movie player!!! Lets face it, the $4.99 tuesday night special is looking pretty good. And that brings up another point: no matter how great of a system you have you can't match the quality and atmoshpere of a movie theatre.
2) Beyond its time
This DVD has proven to me to be too good. I have found that unless you spend that absolute most you can on the most up-to-date technology this player is not worth having. 99% of people are just as well of as far quality with a cheaper machine, simply because to make your time worth it with this machine you need some serious equipment.
3) Size
Although a great and wonderful machine, its extemely large. It can barely fit in the average compartment. Not that this is a major defect or anything, its just something to keep in mind
Overall Impression
My overall impression was that this was a great machine, but it was way to expensive for me, and 99% of the population and that it was almost so good that you couldn't take full advantage of it. I would recommend you to a cheaper model, not any in preticular, because most will have more than expecptional quality
