Pros: Kids can't put things inside it
Cons: The bright buttons actually attract kids
The Bottom Line: Great if you have young children in your household, otherwise it's your average VCR.

| cnzmom's Full Review: Sony SLV-KS1 VHS VCR |
All kids have a fascination with putting things inside other things, and my 2 year old son did just that with our old VCR. This model will absolutely prevent this as long as you remember to slide the lock into place. For the sole reason that it prevents your child from jamming it I love this VCR. I do have a problem with the fact that the VCR is brightly colored and actually attracts my children to the buttons, and even though they lock, I still hate the fact that they are interested in playing with it. The remote is also brightly colored and VERY attractive to little hands. Another negative is the "cartoons" that play as you rewind, which neither of my 2 children (2 years and 9 months) are interested in at all, and annoy any adults. The VCR will rewind and replay your videos, although I do not allow my kids to sit in front of the television endlessly, so this is an unnecessary addition. We purchased this VCR at Best Buy for $79.99 with a $10 instant rebate, so the price couldn't be beat.
