Pros: Terrific quality. The best of the high end players.
Cons: A little pricier but worth it.

I am probably considered a music fanatic. With over 600 CDs between myself and my wife, I guess I can be considered a more high end, heavy user of audio equipment, certainly not just a casual listener. After spending 8 years with an old Panasonic stereo (just never had the money to upgrade, something always came up) I finally went out and got the system of my dreams. I decided upon Onkyo for all of the stereo components including this CD player. I have been nothing but pleased.
I went from a Sony 5 disc to this Onkyo 6 disc. First off, even though it doesn't sound like a whole lot, that extra CD is excellent. It just adds more to your music selection, randomness, etc. In addition, like the Sony, this is a carousel CD changer which I find far superior than the cartridge switches. You can actually view the CDs all at once instead of having to tug one out at a time. Another terrific feature is, unlike my Sony, you can open the carousel and change the CDs even while one is still playing. There is no interruption in the music if it is opened. Perfect for parties, or if you are making mixed tapes/CDs. In addition this has every feature you could want. Random play, fader, single disc play, repeat, etc. The panel is laid out nicely, no buttons in awkward spots. (my friend has a CD changer that has the buttons under the carousel. When it's open it is horrible to work the controls). Finally, the player integrates perfectly with my other Onkyo components (one remote for all) but can also be used with other brands.
The quality has been incredible so far. This is my 3rd 5 or more disc player and the first tow (a Sony and a Panasonic cartridge) all have their little bugs. The Sony was infamous for opening and then closing back up immediately even though I didn't push the button. The Onkyo has performed like a well oiled machine with no bugs. If you are a serious music listener, do yourself a favor and don't settle for the $100 cheaper Sony or Panasonic. Upgrade to the more reliable quality of Onkyo. I've never seen one better.
