Pros: Incredible playback/record quality, sturdy build, easy to use
Cons: loss of fidelity in reverse on both decks, heads slightly out of alignment?
The Bottom Line: Great deck, a bit pricey but if you can find it open box like i did for a low price (125) its well worth it.

| lynchman's Full Review: Yamaha K-903 Single Cassette Deck |
I dont think you can get a better tape deck nowadays, especially with all the cd burners out there. But, for us analog freaks theres this awesome deck. This is the best deck Ive ever owned in my life. I record CD's on Type I cassettes that darn near match CD quality. I nver had that performance out of any other deck before. The best Type I's for this deck are Sony HF's (you can get a box of sixteen 90 minute sony HF's for 8 or 9 bucks)- I also Use Maxell XL-II's for even better sound. When I hear how good cassettes can sound with this thing, i kind of wonder why everyone is dumping the cassette for mp3's and what not. Oh well. Seriously though, this is a good quality machine, and except for the slight loss of fidelity in reverse mode, this thing is perfect. I have so far recorded about 60 or so tapes in the first month i've owned this thing and has not exhibited any weaknesses as far as recording & playback go.
