| sprintdrcd's Full Review: Panasonic PV-DV900 Mini DV Camcorder |
I love making home videos in VHS, but found the quality of the videos to be substandard. Poor colour and poor copies have limited their usefulness. I tried a miniDV camera and loved it. The Panasonic PV-DV 900 has so many features, that it takes weeks of video taping to realize its full potential. I've found that editing the video difficult on a pc, as the best picture quality uses a lot of memory and streaming is very slow. I've experienced problems with "EditDV", this could be that my mother board is crammed. Whatever the reason, I've resorted to editing parts of my videos, but copying most parts unedited. Perhaps a miniDV drive or VCR could help with the storage problems while editing. This is a wonderful camera for anyone that loves recording home video on a budget.
The camera technology seems to be ahead of the editing technology, but with time I hope to utilize the full potential of this camera.
