I received a Panasonic Palmcorder Palmsight camcorder PV-L559 as a gift approximately seven months ago. Since then I have used this product at least once a week and am very pleased with its quality, simplicity and exceptional performance.
One of the best features of this particular model is its lightweight, easy-to-handle design. It is convenient to transport and can be used for long periods of time with no problems related to arm or shoulder fatigue.
The Palmcorder is also extremely easy to operate, even if you have never used a camcorder before. It has a 3” LCD Monitor that clearly displays what is being recorded and a built-in Digital Electronic Image Stabilization. This feature helps hold the camcorder picture steady even if the operator moves or shakes while recording.
Picture and sound quality with this camcorder are exceptional in all filming conditions. Also included is a built-in Auto Light feature. This feature improves picture quality in color and tint when shooting in low-light conditions.
We have used this product in many different filming situations, from action (a karate tournament) to outdoor, to low-light (around the campfire - great quality here), to indoors. The Palmcorder performs exceptionally in all the above mentioned filming conditions. (I would highly recommend this product to new parents or people trying to capture moving children! The Palmcorder works great, even while crawling or chasing after little ones!)
Other features include a 26x high-definition zoom lens for close-up shots, a 150x digital zoom image magnification lens, also for close-up shots, a two hour battery (included), a MotionSensor feature for home security purposes, auto titler/phase titler, which lets the user automatically or manually choose from ten specific holidays or ten commonly-used phrases (We Love You!, Merry Christmas, A Special Day, etc), auto fade, color digital fade, power zoom, auto focus and 8-function remote control. The Palmcorder may also be mounted on a tripod for stationary recording. (Tripod not included).
The Palmcorder is VHS compatible. The tapes recorded with the Palmcorder will play in your VCR by using the included PlayPak. It comes with a detailed, easy-to-follow instruction manual. Also in this manual is a list of additional assessories and current prices, warranty information and details on how to obtain a quality recording.
Priced at around $600, the Palmcorder is a great camcorder that is easy to operate and fun to use.
