| fxly3434's Full Review: Kodak Advantix 4100 IX APS Film Camera |
About 4 years ago I was given this spectacular gift from my man. He knew just how much of a nut I was in taking pictures of beautiful sunsets, lazy fluffy clouds hanging over the gorgeous Utah mountains, and of our small handsome truck.
Wow! Now why would he want to do such a thing as to buy me this particular camera? I was using a 110 mm. Well, the main reason was because I was pregnant and he guessed that I would have fun with it. Well, he knows me well enough!
I was not aware of the wonderful features carried by this hand-sized machine. It has the option of giving you the time or date. You can take night pictures (I had taken several of Christmas lights and they all came out beautiful!), indoor pictures come out just as clear as the outdoor ones. The color is ALWAYS deep and rich, the picture is always crisp and sharp... It is so easy to drop the film when it needs it, there is no hassle of having to insert anything like with the 35 mm cameral. Also, it has a built in flash that you can choose in its electronic menu whether to be light sensitive or automatic. It has excellent zooming capabilities... can go to 3 different photo sizes (regular, classic and panoramic) just by a simple push of a switch.
It has a dial "on off" switch which I just love. I consider this like a safety feature. I little girl can play with my camera and there is no way of having an accidentally shot.
Once developed, an index of the photos you took on that roll will be included. That is so convenient! You don't have to hassle with negatives (that can get easily damaged by just about anything). And copies can be made by referencing the index to the reorder form and dropping the same roll of film in the Photo Drop Box at the store.
I just love my camera, and it has been FOUR long, fun-filled years with this camera. I had no clue whatsoever at the time of purchase of all the advantages and heartaches I had saved myself!
The best place, I recommend, to have the film developed, is at WalMart. You get a free small photo album with each initial development and the quality is always great! (Trust me, I have tried just about everywhere there is.)
PS--a question of durability?? of course it is! I have dropped my camera on concrete (silly of me), had water accidentally sprayed (don't try it at home!) And it is still alive and kicking!
