I am the type of person who wants the best product available when it comes to purchases like tvs, washers and dryers, cameras, etc., because once you have these types of products it's generally hard to get rid of them. I still have broken printers, coffee makers and the like because I didn't by "a good one" to begin with. So, with that said, I shopped the camera market and considered the $300 range as well as the Kodak Advantix. The price of the Elph is in the $300's and I have two friends who have one but are not happy with it (the delay time between pictures is too long, according to them).I have been totally happy with my $129 purchase. In addition to being better priced, my Advantix is lighter in weight than their Elphs. I like that the Advantix is small enough to fit in my purse and light enough that it doesn't bother me to carry around.
My experiences with this camera have been great. I recently had it on a trip with me and carried it around my wrist and it wasn't cumbersome. The pictures came out clear, it was easy to use, I took pictures from far distances and they came out good, and the delay time between pictures wasn't too long.
One thing I was unhappy with was that I didn't read the book to find out exactly what the three picture settings are and I took pictures that were a weird size. I didn't realize the mistake until I tried to put them in an album and am having a hard time finding a picture album to fit them in. So, I recommend that you set the pictures on the first size, not the middle one. Also, I'm not positive it isn't a feature, but I have yet to find a way to change the zoom.
Anyone who wants a quality product that is easy to use for a great price should consider this camera.
