| Joy53's Full Review: Canon Snappy QT Film Camera |
I have a Canon Sure Shot but it wasn't working correctly so I wanted
something for not very much that I could use until I could see if the
other one was repairable or not. So I had the Snappy QT. It was easy to
use but because it doesn't have variable focus, sometimes it was too close. Most cameras I have used, have a three foot minimum range and this one is more than that so that threw me off at first. There is not an electric eye on it to adjust the iris so a picture might come out over or under exposed. Still, for what I paid for it at Walmart, it worked okay.
In the last roll however, the pictures seemed to be a bit cloudy. I looked at the lens but it looked fine and I DO know how to clean a lens.
Then, I had a break-in and of the few things they got, one was that camera. So I went here to E-opinions to find what would work better when I go to buy another one, and what comment did I see but the one beginning "free but..." and the comment said that after a short time,
the pictures began to get blurry. Well, cloudy could also mean blurry, so apparently it is just an attribute about the camera. If the lens is made from plastic, some plastics tend to grow cloudy over time and so that could be the reason. However, I did like the new features, (new as compared to the Sure Shot I bought in 1985) but I suppose that most of these cameras have those features by now. And the red-eye reduction 'flashing night light' was nice. I THINK I bought it for around $40 but I don't remember how long I had it except that I bought it last year. However, if I am not wrong, I shot seven twenty-four-exposure rolls before it began to grow cloudy and that is too much to pay for something that isn't any more reliable than that. I scan my pictures so perhaps if someone didn't they might not notice the cloudiness in them. But I also wear daily-wear contacts and the cloudiness I saw in that last roll, was simular to cloudiness sometimes seen through contacts. So I don't know. I would personally go for a GLASS lens camera which should be clearer.
